Stanwell Moor.                                                                                                                                           14th November 2024

Dear All,

In 2017 I began the campaign for Stanwell Moor to be included within the Wider Property Offer Zone (WPOZ). I have never given up on this and I intend to see it through to its conclusion and succeed for everyone who lives in this village.

Three years ago I told Heathrow Airport Ltd I did not accept their assumption that we would not be affected by (new noise) was a credible reason for not including our community and that every resident of Stanwell Moor was of the same opinion.

The reality is our community has been affected by new noise in one form or another - Every day, of every week, of every month, and every year, for decades. - And we have never received just compensation.

It was all the more infuriating as the reality is that in 2021 due to the strength of our campaign Heathrow Airport promised that we would be included in the WPOZ and then back-tracked on that promise.

However when John Holland-Kaye announced that HAL’s only reason for not including Stanwell Moor in the WPOZ was the community was not affected by ‘new noise’ from the airports expansion we had an answer. While I personally thought it was ridiculous we had a reason that would backfire on Heathrow and would ultimately win our case for inclusion!

I told the CEO of Heathrow that if this was the only reason to stop the most airport-blighted village within the Heathrow perimeter from claiming our legitimate right, to be included within the Wider Property Offer Zone then as soon as ‘new noise’ is evident, I would champion this on behalf of the residents of Stanwell Moor and I would expect them to remedy that decision and include Stanwell Moor within the WPOZ boundary.

The reason I am writing this letter at this time is to remind every resident what we could possibly lose should we accept what in my opinion is no more than a cynical bribe to stop any objections to their taxiway planning application to Hillingdon Council which was published today Thursday 14th November 2024.

Further expansion will happen. - The third runway will follow. - This is only smoothing the waters for HAL’s planned next stages.

However, how we react to this as a community is important and Heathrow know this!

I urge everyone not to accept the offer of new windows and doors at this time, as it could potentially negate our claim to WPOZ inclusion. For the sake of clarity I am not asking you to refuse this offer, by all means have surveys should you wish. What I am asking is that you put these works ‘on hold’ for now and show support for your neighbours and all of our residents, as we go through the next stage of our campaign

Be under no illusion everything you are being offered now, is the least Heathrow can offer. This kind of insulation and more (will have to be offered to you) as the airport expansion plans ramp up. Heathrow knows this but even now they seek to put finances before ‘people’s quality of life’ and yet again they try to alienate parts of our small community by saying some residents do not qualify. - This is a disgrace!

Ask yourself, are we a Community United or Divided?
Are we to allow Heathrow to dictate to our residents that you might qualify, but your neighbour doesn’t?

Or are we to tell HAL that everyone on our village is united on this, as we are all affected by aircraft noise?
For my part I intend to ensure everyone in our village is treated equally. - Because “WE ARE ALL” affected!

I’ve had neighbours come to me in recent months asking; Jim, why have we not got this offer from Heathrow?

Therefore I would urge everyone to show Heathrow a community united with a mission that is not just about insulation but it’s to finally have what we deserve. Parity with other communities who are blighted by the airport and inclusion into the Wider Property Offer Zone (WPOZ).

I continue to fight for this for everyone on this village and I won’t give up.
When we prove new noise they will need to include Stanwell Moor within the WPOZ.
I have spoken to a large London Solicitor Practice who are interested in taking on our case.
I have no doubt the no ‘new noise’ argument will be justly overturned and we will prove Stanwell Moor more than any other community deserves the world-beating compensation that Heathrow say they will deliver.

WPOZ is firmly back on the agenda, I’ve read recent statements from the new CEO, Thomas Woldbye and COO, Javier Echave which confirms their staged-expansion-plans. You can read these on the NEWS PAGES on our campaign website.

Spelthorne Borough Council is on our side – They insist that Stanwell Moor must be included in the WPOZ.
